Cupping
Cupping & Gua Sha
Cupping and Gua Sha are two amazing parts of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Cupping dates back over 3,000 years and was even used in Ancient Egypt!
Cupping is used to help increase circulation, decrease inflammation, and even stimulate the production of Heme Oxygenase-1 which has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antiproliferative, and neuromodulatory effects.! Gua sha produces the same enzyme but uses a different technique. They both feel amazing and are great ways to stimulate your own body’s healing response!
Many people think that cupping may hurt, but it actually feels like a deep massage. The marks the cups create resemble bruises but are actually petechiae, just some blood being pulled to the surface! The marks can last up to two weeks, especially your first few times!
